A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP:

father, son & holy spirit

The Basics

Relationship Is Not Ritual or Tradition

The dynamics of a relationship are determined by those involved in the relationship. The natural outflow that occurs is a direct result of the interaction. In our relationship with God, one dynamic remains the same (yesterday, today and forever) and one is ever changing. God is the constant, All-Powerful (Omnipotent), All-Seeing (Omnipresent), All Knowing (Omniscient) and we are the variable, created from the dust, human, fallible.

Relationship Moves Us

From Camera Ready to Safe In His Arms

It is very easy to get so caught up in the doing of what we think, or even know, is pleasing to God that we lose sight of the being that is interwoven in the fibers of relationship with Him and required to walk with Him. It is through relationship that we believe and it is through relationship that we receive.

The doing sometimes becomes such an act that we can turn it on and turn it off when we get ready. Or, we get so caught up in the performance that we lose who we are supposed to be and become shallow, well presented frauds that display a form of godliness but deny the power thereof (2Timothy 3:5). A great actor, on display, camera ready, reciting lines, memorizing performances, perfectly placed for all to see. Aesthetically correct (looking good on the outside) but void of power and disconnected from the Source on the insideRehearsed, Repetitive, Religious.

This is not for us!

This trap of performance is a very easy trap to settle into and a very hard maze to get out of, it is a trick and a cheap substitute. Slowly, gradually and most of the time silently, disingenuity, dishonesty and insincerity attempt to crowd out genuiness, honesty and sincerity. The bumps and bruises of living in this world blind and rob us of a connected and nourishing relationship with a very real Savior that is safe, genuine, compassionate and true. If we continue along this path our faith becomes blurred and our hearts become cold.

Having to put on an act all the time is a very time consuming, callousing and draining thing. It leaves us struggling to stay connected to the heart of the One who loves us above all.

Arent you tired?

Wouldn’t it be nice to take off the mask and relax in the peace and presence of someone who will lead you out of the maze of performance and into or back into a relationship of love?

Give God a try. Give Him your hand and your heart and rest safe in His arms. Let go of the performance and ask The Lord to guide you into the being of relationship with Him. He is knocking at the door of your heart and waiting for you to let Him in

Its time!
